Peering into a quaint hangout named Café Kaffekoppen in Gamla Stan, Stockholm, candles and antique lamps lit the place just enough to see your company’s smiling face across the table.

We took a moment here to write a postcard — to let our loved-ones know where we were. Gamla Stan is old town, and dates back to the 13th century. The locale is the main square there — Stortorget — where all cobblestones alleys lead, and the North Germanic style, archaic architecture seems to fall into itself.

The scene: Countless coffee shops and restaurants, very cozy boutiques, and the occasional high-end clothing store. Amidst all of this, this café sticks out and makes you feel at home.
